Xiaomi's first smartphone with stock Android, the Xiaomi Mi A1 is ready to get the Android 9 Pie-update soon. We know this because a Xiaomi Mi A1 device with Android 9 Pie was spotted on the benchmarking website Geekbench. This means that developers are working on it for update and testing the performance of software. The device is expected to receive the update as it is part of the Android One program where Xiaomi has tied up with Google to provide the latest updates to the device. The device has already received monthly Android security patches like clockwork and the device was initially launched with Android 7.1.2 Nougat.
The Xiaomi just needs to ensure that it has thoroughly tested the update before rolling out the update to users. Because of the number of bugs and multiple recalls that Xiaomi had to do when it launched Android 8.0 Oreo update for the device. Talking about Android 9 Pie update, Xiaomi Mi MIX 2S is the only device in the Xiaomi portfolio that has been updated to the latest Android version.
