Naw a days fake online banking apps of SBI, Axis Bank, Axis, PNB, Citi, Yes bank, Indian overseas and other leading banks are available on Google Play store, which may have stolen data of thousands of bank customers.

These fake android apps looks like  original app have a logo of respective banks which makes it more difficult for customers to differentiate between the original and fake apps.

According to a report that the Astounding malware in these apps may have stolen thousands of customers' account information and credit card details.
These fake  apps attract victims to download and use them. These apps also offers promising rewards, including cash back on purchases, free mobile data or interest free loans, shopping voucher etc to lure the victims. Some even claiming to  enabling users to withdraw cash from an ATM and have it delivered to their doorstep.

These Fake moble application are not new for Android store and this sort of malware will continue to find its way into the androidapp store.

"Some of the apps are exact copy of real app, these are more dangerous for customers they seed malware and steal data from user accounts. Online banking Users should always use antivirus software, which provides malware protection and real time internet security to keep users protected and stop these fake apps from stealing banking data.
Some banks have started inquiry and also informed the CERT-IN (computer emergency response team) -- the national nodal agency for responding to computer security incident.
